From Imagination to Innovation: 5th Graders Build Their Own Arcade

Inspired by Caine’s Arcade, 5th grade students at Paradise Valley Engineering Academy set out to create a space that sparks joy and creativity. Caine's Arcade is a documentary which tells the story of a cardboard arcade created by a young boy in East L.A. Using the engineering design process, they imagined, planned, built, and tested their very own arcade games. Along the way, they discovered that creativity can take projects in unexpected directions—many final games looked completely different from the original plans. This hands-on project allowed students to problem-solve, adapt, and bring their ideas to life, all while sharing fun with friends and classmates. Their ingenuity and teamwork turned cardboard and imagination into an unforgettable arcade experience for our school community. Very impressive, PV!!
