Dear Paradise Valley Families,
I hope this letter finds you and your loved one’s both healthy and safe. As you know, Morgan Hill Unified School District will be starting this new school year with 100% Distance Learning for all students. Our school team has been working hard over the past few weeks on the details of this plan. As a staff, we are committed to supporting families in ensuring that this is the best learning experience for our students. Every student will receive a Chromebook for logging on to classroom instruction and meetings in distance learning. Teachers will provide daily instruction in a number of ways: whole class meetings, small group lessons, project based learning, computer adaptive support, as well as, one-to one support when needed. We will be providing materials, books, and other supplies to use from home. This year we will be hosting virtual “Back To School” meetings for parents and caregivers to connect with teachers and to get important information.
Please remember to check your Aeries account to ensure the information is correct, as all information this year will be coming via email and peachjar.
We all recognize that living through this pandemic has been challenging in many ways. I encourage you as well as the rest of the school community to lean in on each other. We can and will get through this together. In the meantime, I encourage you to help your child identify their “learning zone” and get it prepped with the items they need to stay focused and feel like they are in school. This could be a cool newly designed name plate for their zoom meetings, a bitmoji for the older kids, or maybe a “learning buddy” stuffed animal for the little one’s.
Most importantly, we are here for and with you. We will be working on academic needs and social and emotional needs together. I look forward to getting to know you and your child this school year. Be on the lookout for the newsletters every week!
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and flexibility as we design our new school year. I look forward to working in collaboration with you.
