November: Newsletter

Hello PVEA!

October is gone and November is going to fly!

Wellness Event is THIS WEEK!!! I am so incredibly excited to hold a Wellness Event this week at PVEA.  The event will be structured in two sections: one for parents in the cafeteria and one for children Kindergarten through 12th grade in the admin building (center pod).  Please ensure to register asap so that we can ensure enough items for all that will be coming.  Register here.

Drop Off/Pick Up
We have received several complaints in the past week from our neighbors.  Please remember the following: do not block driveways, stop when the bus stop sign is on (that includes oncoming traffic), slow and watch for pedestrians in the crosswalk, and never leave your car in a drop off/pick up area unattended.  At pick up please do not block the street.  We will not dismiss kids until 2:05 on regular days so please do not come more than 10 minutes early as folks are complaining about parents blocking the street for over 30 minutes before we let students out.

Parent Square
Please remember to sign up!  All newsletters and information will be delivered through that platform.

Great News!

  • The playground is being replaced completely!  You read that correctly… we are getting a new playground!!! The best part is that we are not paying for it at the site!  More info to come as we plan out the timelines.

The Relaxation Room for students is open and is being used daily.  It has been an amazing resource for kids and we are seeing a significant change in the emotional needs of the kids. If you would like to donate to the room please see the Amazon Wish List here.

Girls On The Run: Help empower the girls at Paradise Valley Elementary! We're looking for 3 Girls on the Run coaches for the Spring 2022 (March 14-May 22) season. As a coach, you'll lead a small team of 3rd-5th grade girls through social-emotional lessons on friendship, emotions, conflict-resolution, and community-building, while training to complete a 5K at the end of the season. You don't need to be a runner/athlete nor have coaching experience; anyone 18 years or older is eligible to coach. To sign up for a virtual information session or more details about coaching, go to www.gotrsv.org or contact Program Manager Amy Flaskerud at amy.flaskerud@gotrsv.org.
